Day to Day Ministry
Reciprocal Ministries International (RMI) has been serving in Southern Haiti since 1987. RMI’s main goal is to facilitate partnerships between U.S. and Haitian churches, establishing long-term relationships. Within the church-to-church relationship, RMI strives to meet five objectives through the local Haitian Church: evangelism, discipleship, education, community development, and social compassion. Christ loves the church, and RMI strives to keep that central in its focus.
RMI currently has 38 U.S./Haiti partnerships with U.S. churches spanning from Florida to Alaska. RMI is the logistical arm for all 30+ short-term U.S. teams that travel into Haiti each year. The U.S. teams engage the local Haitian church and community through kids programs, door to door evangelism, food and water filter distribution, work teams, pastoral education, and promotion of the local Haitian church. RMI's goal is to help meet the physical need first, in hopes of then being able to share the Gospel with those in Haiti.
The RMI main office is located in Les Cayes, Haiti. Their U.S. office is in Southern Florida. The Speel family is currently serving at RMI's Florida location, although either place could be "home" to them in the future.
PRAYER REQUESTS
Please pray for PEACE in the country of Haiti. Roadblocks, riots, and violence towards businesses and schools have been a major challenge in getting food and supplies where it is needed most.
Please pray for the Haitian Church. Pray for the pastors, elders, and others at our sister churches...that they'd have the strength to help those in their community who are in greatest need.
Please pray for the 40+ schools in Haiti that we partner with. RMI's "Hope 4 Kidz" program was greatly affected by the difficulties that 2019 brought. Because of the roadblocks and theft, our staff in Haiti has been unable to get food to many of the schools we partner with. The U.N. has stated that 2.3 million out of the 12 million people in Haiti are in the starvation category due to food shortages.
