CAMP-of-the-WOODS has a long-standing partnership with Hacienda El Refugio, a ministry and retreat center in the Andes mountains, just 45 minutes outside Quito, Ecuador. One of El Refugio's key ministries is Alturas, a three-month discipleship and leadership program designed for Latino young adults.

This program emphasizes holistic development through spiritual formation classes, one-on-one discipleship, leadership training, community living, and hands-on outdoor adventures. In this immersive environment, students encounter God and His Word in powerful and transformative ways as they live and grow in a supportive community of believers. Alturas is intentionally designed to stretch participants beyond their comfort zones, helping them develop their leadership potential and deepen their relationship with Christ.

Gospel Volunteers Inc. supports a scholarship fund to ensure students can participate in this transformative experience. Additionally, COTW short-term mission trip teams have the opportunity to serve alongside the Alturas students during their time at El Refugio.
