The TeePee & Trading Post Project: Laying the Ground Work!
This past month, we have been preparing the ground at Charlie Park for the upcoming landscaping project. This is part of phase one of three for the Future Foundations Campaign: The TeePee & Trading Post Project. (Click here to learn more about the project and see hardscape photos.)
COTW community member and lead hardscape project designer, Jarod Hynson, shares his perspective on how the new Charlie Park area will bless members and families for years to come.

How long have you been coming to COTW?
I was first introduced to COTW in 1992, served on staff on the boat crew in 1995, and now we've been coming as a family for almost 25 years, pushing all three of our kids in baby strollers along the way.
What is the goal of this design?
Everyone gathers on the road after chapel, so when I began to design this new project and relook at this differently, I thought, “Here is a way to get people off the road and into another area where they can stand, greet each other, and talk before or after the TeePee is open.” We will build pavilions so that people can gather together as they make their way from Chapel to Larsen Lodge or the TeePee. We want to create a beautiful hardscape with perennials, lighting, and timber frame structures, inspired by the Adirondacks.
What does the TeePee mean to you and your family?
We have had some great memories of the TeePee - all the wet, sandy feet, and the kids so hyper at night that they couldn't sleep because they ate five dollars worth of penny candy. We've experienced it all in the TeePee and it’s probably one of the most sentimental places at Camp.

To honor 125 years of God's faithfulness through this ministry, this project will serve families for another 100 years by building upon the foundations of today.
