Best Apps for Family Summer Itinerary Planning
Planning family vacation - especially multi-generational family vacations - is difficult to execute when there is multiple pieces of information to keep track of. What you need is a travel app that keeps up with you! Luckily, TripIt, PackPoint, and Packr are three apps that conveniently compile the trip details of all your family members.
TripIt
As featured on The New York Times, Forbes, NBC, Wall Street Journal, and Travel & Leisure
TripIt is perfect for holding all of your travel documents and itinerary plans. Forward any of your flight, hotel, restaurant, and car rental confirmation emails to the app and it creates a plan for you! The best part is that you’re able to access your itinerary from anywhere, even without an internet connection. You can also create your own from scratch.
The pro version will find your alternative routes if you have canceled flights and send out delayed flights or cancellation notifications.
This app is available on the App Store and Google Play.

While TripIt prepares you logistically, To make it even easier, the lists are broken up into categories so you can focus on one group of items to pack at a time. Other benefits include…
Premium connects to TripIt - this allows you to fully customize your packing template, activities, and shares your list with everyone traveling or meeting up with you (premium only costs 2.99 annually)
Weather-driven packing list - your packing list will update based on the weather forecast connected to your trip
This app is available on the App Store and Google Play.

Packr
Unlike PackPoint, Packr streamlines the packing process so you always have a list to refer back to. You can also have multiple lists based on various trips you might take. For example, your COTW vacation is just one list you can keep and refer back to every year.
It also allows you to add items to your lists without premium. However, if you want to customize categories, premium is the way to go. The premium version also connects to TripIt, which is a one-time fee of $6.
If having a family-mode feature is important to you, Packr is what you need! This app allows parents to pack for several people at a time.
